| Location: Ypsilanti,MI,United States Member Since: Dec 13, 2008 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships. Short-Term Running Goals: My goals for 2010 are:
*2150 total miles
*finish a walking/jogging marathon
*a 2 hour half marathon Long-Term Running Goals: I want to take each year as it comes.
2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.
Personal: This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.
My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend. |

I could only do 3.51 this morning before my ankle gave out. It hurts! I am going to do between 3 and 4 mile run this afternoon.
Did another 4 miles outside. It is 28 degrees, with snow flurries. My ankle started hurting after I ran in a snow pack. I noticed that I turn my ankle in when I run in snow, causing the pain. If I baby it for a few days, then avoid snow, I should be fine.
I can't believe that in November I thought running in 40 degree weather was cold. I was a wussy! |
| |
4 miles in 32 minutes. not bad. 8 min. miles! Followed by heavy weights. I may end up doing another 3-4 miles this afternoon, depending on how icy it is out there. |

| Race: |
Shamrocks and Shenanigans (3.1 Miles) 00:24:43, Place overall: 373, Place in age division: 17
Out of 1700 runners, I came in 373 overall, 17th (out of 143) for my division, and 108th (out of 959) out of all the women. It was a hilly course, with two big hills. All that incline training I was doing paid off! I have been fighting a cold the last few days, and even though my time was not as fast as I wanted, I passed people (more experienced runners) on the hills, and I did a great job! Not bad for my third race!
My husband came in 41st for his division and 654th out of the men! Not bad for a second race!
| | This cold has officially settled in my chest. Now I have to fight the cold AND train for my first 10K, which is in 2 weeks. Lucky me! |

| |
my knee started hurting at about 2.5 miles. I don't want to risk injury before my first 10k. I will be doing anther run this afternoon. I did 4 miles with almost no pain in my knee. Maybe it is my body's way of telling me to decrease my inside milage and increase my outside milage!
|
| | weights in the morning, 4 miles in the afternoon. |
| | shorter runs because on Saturday I have my first 10K! I have a 4 mile run this afternoon! Looking forward to it! | |
| | Tomorrow is my first 10K! So I did a nice 3.5 incline run, just to warm up and relax. If the weather clears up (at least the wind), then i will be off to do another 3-4 miles this afternoon. Afternoons are my de-stressing run! And with the kids being home all next week, I am going to need it! Tomorrow's race is so important to me. Not just because it is my first 10k, but it marks the one year anniversary of me getting off my butt and exercising. April 9th (the actual day), I started off walking 3 miles in 1 hour every day. I worked my way up to speed walking 6 miles, then running 6 miles and by December, I was geared up for my first 5K. I have lost 50 pounds, gone from a dress size 18 (XL-2XL) down to a 1 (xs-s). Went from a 42-40-48 to a 32-27-35. I have more muscle mass, my legs and arms have definition and I can do sit ups and push ups and look like a normal person. I'm sure I could have lost more weight, faster, using diet pills and diets, but I re thought my life, and make a life change, not just a diet change. I quit smoking in October. My life is completely different. I feel amazing, look great, but most of all, I am happy. Thank you to everyone on this site. Nothing but support and encouragment from everyone. | |
| Race: |
Martian Marathon (6.2 Miles) 00:52:45, Place overall: 208, Place in age division: 11 | | My first 10 K! I came in 11th out of 80 women in my age group, 208th out of 1000, and 61st out of the women! Not bad for a first 10K! So looking forward to my next one!

| | incline intervals this morning along with weights. did 30 min of weights did another 4.1 miles. The weather man said light breeze. I ran against 15 mph sustained winds with gusts up to 35 MPH. That ain't no breeze. |

Â
Today is my one year anniversary of working out! I have lost 65 pounds! Dropped from an 18 to a size one and I am now running races! I knew it would take some time, but a year later I can honestly say this was an amazing choice I made! I am proud of myself!
Did another 4.1 miles! Wind is really kicking up! Can't wait for spring to stick, and the wind to go!
| | Happy Easter! I start my training and new diet tomorrow. Not diet, as in "I'm losing weight". Diet as in "I am in training for my half marathon and have to eat differently". |

| | three mile sprints. my cold is settling in my chest...not fun. I am going to try and flush this thing out of my system before the race. If there is no rain today, I am going to do another 4 miles this afternoon. I also have 5000 race packets to fill, staple and scan into the computer for RF. Love my life! |
| | my cold has settled into my chest, thinking it will be an extended stay. I am trying to flush it out of my system with water and green tea. I took some cold meds last night, made me loopy. I have a 5 mile trail race on Saturday, I just hope my lungs will recover! |
| | did a nice light run this morning. On the way to the gym, a guy jumped out on the highway and was trying to hitch a ride. scared me half to death! My cold is almost gone. I'm making chicken soup to kick the butt of the rest of my cold. This chicken soup can cure a cold faster than I can sneeze! I love it! Two days until my first 5 mile trail race. It is the first of a series called the Serious Series. If I do all three in the series, I get awarded a glass plaque stating that I did the serious series. I'm excited! So excited! |
| Race: |
Road Ends 5 Mile Trail Run (5 Miles) 00:47:42, Place overall: 150, Place in age division: 5
Results are still pending, but I crossed the start line at 1:40, and crossed the finish line at 42 minutes and change. The course was very very hilly, the worst of the series (Serious Series). I started in the back, worked my way to the middle, and I was working the hills. As people were using the downhill portion to gain speed, I went down hill moderatly, and was able to power up the hills, passing every one in my way.
About half way through a tough hill, I kinda wheezed out a "not another one". The guy next to me told me to turn around and go home. I looked at him, yelled "on the left", and kicked it into high gear and left him in the dust. Kiss my dust!
In the final straight away, I had two women on my heels. One passed me, barely getting infront of me when I kicked it into high gear again, and powered right by her. She and I crossed the final sensor neck and neck. Whether I finished in front of her or not is not the issue, the fact that I found that final burst to make it to the end!
No matter where I placed, I am proud of myself! I did it! I kicked butt and took names! I did it!
*Results are in* I placed 5th in my age division (out of 40 women) and 150th out of over 500 runners! I kicked booty! |
| | did 6 miles of incline training. After saturday's race, never again will I curse incline training. that is what got me through the 5 miles of hilly, rough, backwoods! |

Run Fit 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:23:49, Place overall: 73, Place in age division: 4 | | Ran an evening 5k. Had only 5 hours of sleep the night before, and made the mistake of doing squats and lunges and heavy lower body weights the day before. But I still came in at a personal record of 23m 49s. Sprinted the last 10th of a mile, blowing three people out of the water. I came in 20th out of the women, and 73rd out of 300 runners. Not too shabby! I done good! This time last year I was 200 pounds and couldn't even fast walk 3 miles. Now I am placing in 5k races!

so i did another 3.2 at home. felt good to get out and let my legs go! |
| | I was doing my quarter mile sprints when I pulled a muscle. in my butt! i am so sore from transplanting grass yesterday, my tricepts and quads are sore from all the bending and lifting. If I am feeling up to it, i may take another run this afternoon. but oh man, detoxing from coffee (I'm tired!), pulled glute, I don't know if I can! but i might! | |
| |
did 3.35 (half hour) of incline intervals and heavy lower body weights. decided to take it easy for the rest of the week, give myself some time to heal. yesterday was really hard, kicking the coffee, pulled muscle, not a very happy day. but I decided to continue on, slowly this week, and hopefully return to a normal schedule next week. on a lighter note, i get to go bathing suit shopping this weekend. first time since I was 16 that I am going to wear a swim suit. I am down to 134 pounds, down from a high of 200 last spring. I have a party that i am going to next month. and i get to do it in a swim suit. I am so excited!

| | did 1 mile incline, 1 mile sprints, 1 mile incline, and one mile sprints, and heavy lower body weights
I came down with a nasty cold yesterday. The weather is changing so much, and my cold is just a relflection of it. Hopefully I can get in another run this afternoon. I was just too weak yesterday to do much of anything. but today is another day!

The race was great! Still waiting on the results to be posted!
But I did go to the Running Fit Volunteer party...and I was named their favorite volunteer! The owners and the director of RF gave me a gift card, a duffle bag filled with lots of goodies. It was so sweet! I had so much fun!
Couldn't ask for more! My second 10k, but my first trail 10k! Lots of hills, lots of twists and turns, and lots of mud! Loved every second of it! Even when I biffed it down a hill!

did 3 miles at the gym this morning. we are in the middle of huge thunderstorms.
in between storms, I ran another 6 miles outside. the humidity is sky high, and we are about to get pummelled with more storms in the next hour or so. but it was a great run! why is it that running outside is so so so much more fun, better, less BORING that running at the gym??? |
| |
3 miles of quarter mile sprints, and 3.2 miles of incline intervals. fun fun!
20 min weights, 20 min cardio
another 5 miles outside.
my training plan: work my way up to 13 miles a day. Once I hit a week of 13 miles per day, decrease my inside running by 1 mile per day, per week, and increase my outside runs by 1 mile per day per week, until I am doing 13 miles per day outside and cross training on something else inside. |
| |
3 miles of quarter mile sprints
2.15 miles of incline intervals
3.6 miles in 85 degree heat..it's humid too! gross! |
| |
my day off from working out....but needed an energy boost for today. I am volunteering to help at a triathalon this afternoon, in 95 degree heat...I needed the energy boost! |
| | i have to take a break from running. the store that I volunteer for will give me a new pair of shoes for a couple of weeks of 'scut' work in the office. It's only a couple days a week, for a couple weeks. but the shoes i have now are hurting me and my husband refuses to as he puts it "finance my obsession". Thanks honey, so much! | |
| | can't stay away from running....i needed it.....sprints and intervals. i need to run. |
| | I FINALLY GET NEW SHOES! I convinced my husband that new shoes are cheaper than having to take me to the hospital with a torn ligament or tendon! Phew...picking them up today! Can't wait for tomorrow's run! | |
| | There is nothing like running in a good pair of new shoes! oh man I am in heaven! Can't wait for tomorrow's 11 mile run! |
| |
finished my second run...feels so good to have new shoes...no aches in my legs, just the normal breaking in shoes feeling. I love it!
almost at 1000 miles for the year....may not be a big thing for some, but for me, for someone that is new to running, it is HUGE! |
| |
i hate Michigan weather. I hate wind in June. I hate the men walking by that make rude gestures and comments as I run by. I hate the overweight women making comments as I run by.
but i love running. | |
| | my day off from the gym....did a quick outdoor 4 miles! |
| |
did a nice run..feels good!
might do a 6 mile bike ride this afternoon, depending on the weather..I want to start cross training on something else. I don't want to get burned out on running...
I BROKE 1000 MILES FOR THE YEAR, SO FAR!!! OVER 1000 MILES!!! FOR SOMEONE THAT JUST STARTED RUNNING...QUITE A BIG DEAL FOR ME! I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!
| |
did 45 min on the treadmill, and 15 on the elliptical.
Our old gym has mysteriously shut down. No gym member could get in yesterday or today. the manager is no where to be found, and man was I pissed! So we went to another gym that we have been thinking about trying, signed up for their free week, and we will sign the contract next week.
took yesterday off. took a nice 3.5 mile walk with hubby. trying to work on our issues. booked our anniversary weekend at a water park. making it a family weekend, but the nights we are going out together....alone. |
| |
did a nice outside run this morning, heading to the gym tonight!
PS: still hate the michigan weather...windy as all get out!
did a quick 4 miles at the gym.
starting tomorrow I am doing 5 miles in the morning at the gym, 6.22 mile bike ride and then a 6.22 mile run. Need to firm up, lose a little bit of weight, and build up some more muscle in my legs.
Is there a layout that can track running miles AND biking miles? |
| |
did weights this morning, no running. then went on a 6.42 mile bike ride. Worked my quads really well. Haven't been on a bike in over a year. I crashed into a fence pole and hurt my elbow last year. nothing major, but enough to where I shyed away from it. now I need to cross train, and biking is as good as any!
did my usual after noon 6.22 miles. the wind is kicking up pretty bad, and the weather isn't that warm. What happened to summer coming? I hate Michigan weather. I hate it, hate it hate it! |
| |
did 4.2 miles on the bike this morning.
and this afternoon will be another 4 running outside. after all, it is my day off from working out! LOL!
| |
I'm getting increasingly frustrated. Dh (darling husband) doesn't want to go to the gym in the morning...too many men (almost none) look at me. there is one guy that goes in the morning, and dh talks to him. so we are now going at night. when it is a total meat market. huh? i am frustrated with him and his ideas and my only outlet is running or biking. pretty soon one of three things will happen: i will get really really skinny, get really really fast, or get really really single.
did a quick 6 mile run. i loved every step of it. maybe there is something to taking a day off every once in a while!
question of the day: when is it ok to be happy with what you are doing, instead of compairing yourself to more experienced runners? I have a hard time not beating myself up for not going faster, going farther, for breathing hard, for whatever i think i am doing wrong. Reality of it is, i am an ex-smoker (9 months clean) and it takes at least a year for your lungs to recover. I smoked for 17 years, so I shouldn't be so hard on myself. Top it off, I have been seriously running for about 9 months, and there are people that have been doing it for years, and they don't have the self doubt that I do. So, people in blog land, what is the key to getting rid of the self doubt and loathing???? |

did my morning bike ride. felt good!
i wasn't feeling well today. becoming increasingly irritated and irritable. i don't know why my self esteem has hit an all time low....really feeling down and out of it. dont' know how to see the light at the end of the tunnel. but it will come. i hope |
Biking Milage Miles: 6.42 |
|
| | did a 45 min run today. did the last mile at my 5k pace, 7:30. Felt so good to channel my anger and energy. might do another run today...supposed to be stormy today, but we will see! |
| |
My mojo is back! I spent yesterday feeling sorry for myself, being down, eating crap food, and feeling like crap. I did a decent run yesterday, but still felt blah.
but today...man I kicked butt! Did 30 min of speed intervals, some incline intervals, and the last two miles sprinting it out! Every step, every second, I felt stronger and more in control.
My mojo is back....I'm back!
| |
did a great 6.42 mile ride this morning. looking forward to my afternoon runs! got my mojo back.......!
did my afternoon run. felt good. although everything was conspiring against me! Not even a slight breeze all day, but when I started running, a strong wind kicked up....the whole time! I got a rock in my shoe, my sunglasses fell apart (when I was on a rough patch of trail, I swear each step something fell off my glasses!), I had to pee in the woods ( I am not a fan of peeing in the woods!), but my legs didn't give out. I ran 4 miles with a rock in my shoe...felt good to take it off! LOL! |

45 min of quarter mile intervals. felt good!
didn't go to the gym last night...i sliced a huge hunk of skin off my finger...bled like a stuck pig. got dizzy and nearly threw up. can't handle my own blood.
did 6.42 miles on the bike. felt good, getting more confident in riding. after a few more months of riding, next year i might do a duathlon. why not?????
did my afternoon run of 6.22 miles. took forever...had to stop twice to pee! Thankfully there is a well equiped bathroom at a park on my route....thank God for Michigan parks! |

Did a nice ride this morning. i'm dropping the gears, to make it harder on my legs. I don't have a lot of time to ride in the morning, so i have to make the most of what I do have. My quads are already getting stronger. It feels so dam good! Can't wait for my run this afternoon, and I am going to the gym tonight too! whoopee!
I was well on my way to a nice run, when my stomach jumped into my throat, forcing me to stop and throw up. Great....managed 3 miles. ate some toast and will be trying again at the gym tonight. hopefully I won't barf on the treadmill!
*tee-hee* As I was running tonight, good pace, great sweat....I realized that today was supposed to be my day off! *giggle* What a dork I am. So I did 3.1 miles and then did some weights. felt good!

I've been going through a really rough time the last few days. Dh has decided he doesn't want me volunteering at RF anymore. Says it costs too much in fuel for me to go out there. So I had to quit. I have been very upset about it, we almost split up yesterday because of it. I was looking for a new house to move to.
But what is done is done. I told RF that I was moving, so I could just cut the ties. Which also means no more races. I have to find another goal to shoot for, so i don't become un motivated.
My heart and spirit are broken. And I don't know what I can do to get it back.
| |
Dh apologized. He actually apologized. He realized that I am more than just a wife and mother, that I can do more and be more. I am in shock.
Did my 6.42 mile ride this morning. And 6 mile run this afternoon. I have another 5-6 miles at the gym tonight. Looking forward to it!
nice long 45 min's of speed intervals. felt good. |

felt good...did 45 min on the treadmill this morning and heavy lower body weights.
Did my 6.42 mile bike ride. Next week I will have to find another route...trying to add a little more each week.
Did another 7 miles out side. my butt hurts, i'm drenched in sweat, and my nose is running, but i feel great! |

Didn't bike this morning...raining cats and dogs!
So I went for my run. Started out strong, great play list, and it started raining. Ok, no big deal. I am Northwest born and raised, a little rain won't hurt me. Splashing around my trail run, I get the wise idea to push it to 10 miles. See how it feels. Ok, going going going, doing a mile of hills, just to cut one extra lap off my run, but still keep it at 10 miles, going going, on my way home, I WANT MORE! *tee-hee* I wanted to see how 10 straight miles felt. I usually do 6-7 outside miles and 3-5 inside, but I wanted 10 straight outside miles. I can't wait for next Saturday's race. I don't care where I place. I want to be able to say I have done a 10 miler! Whoo hoo, go me!
(obviously still on a running high)
did 1.3 miles on the treadmill, my knee started hurting, so i got off. did some heavy lower body weights. felt good!
| |
did my morning bike ride. loved it. finally, it's not raining outside! whoopee! looking forward to running today.
Did a quick 5.5 mile run outside. I'm a little sore from yesterdays work out. But pushing it through! |

didn't go to the gym last night, instead I packed my bags and I was ready to walk out the door. I am so tired of feeling second best, second rate. But cooler heads prevailed, we have counseling next week, and if I am going to put my all in trying to keep this family together, then I have to remain level headed.
did 6.15 miles on the treadmill, had to stop a bit early, almost peed my pants!
| |
| | Did my 6 miles this morning....I hate having to limit my miles, but with a big race (big for me) coming up, I need to take it easy this week. but it was fun! |
| |
Beginning of race week, keeping my milage low, but still running. I didn't think it was going to be hard to only do 4 miles this morning.....but it was hard to stop at 4! Thankfully I will do 3 this afternoon, and bike 6.42. Love it!
Did my bike ride and arm weights. Moved up from 4 pound weights to 5 pounds. Doesn't sound like much, but I have been doing a lot of reps, and my arms are getting tighter and harder! Whoo hoo! |
Biking Milage Miles: 6.42 |

Did my morning 4. I am having a hard time with shorter distances lately. I warm up and really hit my stride at between 3.5 and 4 miles. Kinda makes me nuts!
I have to go into RF tomorrow and turn in 750 race packets. Scanned them into the computer and now I get to go into work. I love RF. I love how I feel while I am there. Not working for the last couple of years has been hard, but when I am at RF, I feel like I am doing some good. I really love it!
Did my 6.42 miles. It's getting ready to rain out there. I hope no lightening...that's the only thing that will keep me from running today. No wind, no rain, no dark of night will keep me from my appointed miles....*tee-hee* Oh and I am losing another toe nail. The same toe that I lost my last one. Probably gonna be a chronic problem....lucky me! |
Biking Milage Miles: 6.42 |

Hubby didn't want to go to the gym today...blah on him! So I did my 7 mile run. I hate the 3 miles it takes to warm up, but then I hit my stride and off I go. I feel so freaking good! As long as I know I can go as far as I want, I am so good!
Not biking today, it's raining. I love running in the rain. cools me off, keeps the sweat from dripping, and I like it. Looking forward to Saturday's race. My first 10 miler. Based on last years times, I have a good chance of placing. But, for me, no matter where I come in at, I am going to win it. because it is the first 10 miler i am doing (but not the last) and as long as I finish, then it is better than I have ever done! |
| |
did a quick 4 miles. we didn't go to the gym this morning. I didn't sleep well, when I finally did get some sleep. just couldn't fall asleep. nervous about the race on saturday, worried about a bunch of things. but I will go tonight. because tomorrow is rest day...nothing but rest. then the big race on Saturday.
did my 3 at the gym...my next entry will be my race report! i'm so excited!
| Race: |
The Legend (10 Miles) 01:28:34, Place overall: 161, Place in age division: 6
Still waiting on the results to be posted...I will put them up as soon as I get them!
Not too bad! I came in 32 out of 143, 6th in my division, 161 out of 415 runners. My time was good..88 min, 34 seconds. My goal was under 100 min! Not bad for a first 10 mile race!
It was a good course, a few steep hills, on part of a path was up hill, sideways! About mile 6, my hip started hurting, but I kept pushing through.
At the end, I sprinted past two runners, just reaching deep into the last bit of energy, and pulled it off! I was walking off the pain, when a guy came up to me and told me that I did a good race. I told him it was my first 10 miler, and he said he recognized me by my shorts (they were a maroon colored shorts), that I passed him and ran infront of him at about mile 2, and he caught up to me and I passed him again about mile 5. What was he doing, watching my butt? At least that is what my husband said when he walked up and heard the guy talking! *TEE-HEE*
Not a bad first run! I am very proud of myself! I set a goal, and I accomplished it! YEAH ME!
| | Did a quick 5 miles. Didn't want to do too much, but couldn't stand not doing anything. So a compromise.....and on Monday, I start training for a half marathon. I have 56 days to get ready! |
| |
Did my bike ride this morning, followed by weights. Gonna go for a run outside soon, then hit the gym tonight.
I decided on my first duathlon. It will be next year in October. I know it is a good distance away, but it not only gives me a chance to get better on a bike, but also still train for the marathon. My next year schedule will be pretty full...half marathon in April, marathon in September and the duathlon in October. The duathlon will be 5k run, 20k ride, 5k run. My husband said he might enter it with me. He is a wiz on a bike, slower at running though. But it is a goal to shoot for!
did my outside 7. felt good! almost got hit in the head by a golf ball. there is a course right behind the path I run on. That woulda hurt! |

didn't go to the gym last night...too tired.
did 3.5 this morning, still recovering from Saturday. did my bike ride and now I'm off to do 8-9 miles.
I had a good pace, on the last two miles, coming down a steep hillo (which I run all the time) and I biffed it. Tripped on something, my right hand extended and landed, and pushed me to my left side. Now I have a bit of a bruise and some road rash. but hey, road rash is good for the runners soul!

I love my workouts. what really irritates me is when over weight women in this neighborhood stare at me, point, and giggle as they are stuffing twinkies in their mouths. I'm sorry you have a weight problem. I did too. But instead of pointing at me, try asking how you can control yourself. I've gotten to the point that I make faces at them. Not the most mature thing to do, but staring at me when I am running or biking....yeah, I'm trying to get "u man" to look at me, Yeah, I'm the skinny bitch trying to take you man.... I undestand that some women are insecure, but come on, I'm not running for you, or "you man", or even my husband. I am running for me. It's all FOR ME!
*tee-hee* this should tell you how bad at math I am.....I was planning on doing 8 miles outside today..and I did. I meant to bring my daily total to 12.3, I thought I counted right, but low and behold 8 + 5.3 does not equal 12.3....its 13.3. *tee-hee* at least I did a good run, and didn't fall!

Did a good strong 5.25 miles this morning. 3.25 speed intervals (6.0 to 8.5 mph), and 2 miles of incline intervals. First time in a while that a morning run felt good!
I did my ride this morning. And I almost got hit by a car! I was going through a clear driveway, when a car darted out. I jamed on the brakes, but low and behold, my darling husband didn't fix the rear breaks like I've asked (my fault, I should have checked first). So I went ass over head onto the ground. No biggie until I looked up and the lady in the car was laughing. I swear she was laughing and eating a twinkie. My knees were bloodied up, my leg got caught under the bike, and my hands were scrapped up. I stood up, she was still laughing, flipped me off and drove off. I called her a couple of choice names, finished my ride and went home. My knees are fine, but I have a huge knot in my calf. I'm going to rest for a bit, I may not be able to do my second run today, if it's still hurting. Any wonder why I'm not a people person????!!!!!
Managed to do 7.5 miles. It felt good, but the last lap, I opted out of doing the half mile hill. So, I landed at 7.5. Not bad. the bruising is really starting to develop. Its not too bad, but I'm going to ice it some more. |

Did a nice 8 mile run this morning. I felt good enough to do more, but two things stopped me: today is supposed to be a recovery day...and I don't want to push my leg until the soreness is gone. So a nice simple 8.1 mile run. I'm going to have to change up my mileage next week. 8 miles isn't as challenging as it used to be. Gonna have to expand my late morning runs.
Oh yeah, my best week ever: 57.69 miles....still have more to do tomorrow, but by far my best week EVER! |
| | Not a bad way to start the week! |
| |
did my nice 45 min intervals...had to stop at 2 miles to pee...thought I was gonna wet my pants on the treadmill! *tee-hee* what a way to start the week!
did a longer bike route today. got the hubby to fix the brakes last night....finally! *tee-hee* i told him he doesn't have enough life insurance on me to leave the brakes not working.....*giggle*
Did my outside run. My goal was 7 miles, but the humidity is so freakishly high, it was hard to breathe. So I walked the last half mile. no biggie....
I am also discovering the importance of recovery days. Although I did hit a weekly high on miles last week, I am paying for it now. Since I have to go to RF on Thursday, I was planning on doing a quick run before I went to work, I am making Thursday my recovery day. I need the rest! I do! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |

did my 45 min of intervals. feels good!
the bike ride is oddly relaxing. I can let my thoughts wander, but I don't get tired of hearing them. On a long run, I do, which is why I listen to music. But on the bike ride, it is just enough time for me to think of things....sometimes odd, sometimes not!
I ran in the wrong shoes....owie! but i did it. now, time to relax and make race packets! fun fun! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |

Did a short 30 min intervals today. 5 min at 6.5, 7.0, and 7.5 mph. Legs still sore from yesterday's bad run! lucky me!
did my seven miles on the bike. feels good to make the legs burn a bit!
did my 8 miles outside...legs still a little sore from yesterday, but I wanted to push it a bit. tomorrow is my day off, so I pushed it. |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |

yesterday was just long...took the day off from working out. spent all day at RF. Did all the info packets on the upcoming ultra marathon and relay. I am so so so not ready for one, but I am going to go volunteer to help. I want to see what one looks like. Looking forward to it!
this morning I did 45 min of 5 min speed intervals, 6.5 to 7.5, for three sets. felt good and strong. I guess a day of recovery IS a good thing!
nice bike ride...got a lot of thinking done!
Oh man, thank goodness for port a potties. Although I have an irrational fear of them (who hasn't heard the story of the creepy man at the bottom of the toilet looking up...has always scared the hell outta me!) I had to pee so so so so bad...my eyeballs were floating! *tee-hee* . but i did my 8 miles, and an additional .05, just for kicks! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |
|
| |
I decided on the next two years of races:
this year is gonna be my half marathon.
next year is gonna be my marathon and duathalon
then 2011, I am going for an ultra marathon, Dances with Dirt in Hell Michigan! Can't wait! |
| |
didn't go to the gym this morning, dh had to get to work early. did my bike ride, and I hate to say it, but i'm getting bored with my route! I need to find something more challenging and longer. The hills I was riding on are no longer hard, and the distance, although it makes me sweat, isn't a challenge. That's not something I thought I would ever say....*tee-hee*
I have a long run to do today....it's supposed to storm off and on today. And the last time it rained, I did my longest outdoor run. Maybe today will be a day that I do another longest run!
did 13 miles. felt good. my legs tensed up around mile 10 and I had to pee so so so bad! *tee-hee* but did my first outside 13 mile all at once run. gotta love it! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |
| |
| | It's been stormy all morning, and I can't ride in the rain...I'm still a wuss! *tee-hee* but i did do my 45 min of time intervals. felt good, I enjoyed it! |
| |
did my morning run and looking forward to a nice day of biking and running.
yesterday i was exhausted. i layed on the couch and literally could not get up. i was just pushed to a breaking point. feeling better today, maybe i just needed a rest.
did my bike ride. that is the longest I can go working out without music. I get to the point that I can't stand the sound of my own thoughts!
did my extra 8 miles. feels good to put some road under my feet and just go. i love trail running! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |
|
| |
not a very good morning. My leg cramped up, and I had to stop after 2.5 miles. I will, hopefully, be able to make up the miles this afternoon!
nice bike ride. plenty of time to think and try and work things out in my mind. so far, still confused and frustrated!
got another leg cramp. i guess i need more potassium. so humid outside, with a storm warning. but the storms skip our area...always a warning, never a storm! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.28 |
|
| | I was doing my treadmill run, when my calf cramped up again. it still hurts so bad. I'm gonna take today and tomorrow off. The last two weeks have been great milage weeks, so two days won't set my training back too much. Ouchie! | |
| | Biked to the gym and home, did a very short run. My calf is still healing, and I don't want to push it! |
Biking Milage Miles: 9.00 |
|
| |
didn't go to the gym today. So it will be a nice long outside run later this morning. But I expanded my bike ride to 8 miles, and a huge hill!
Yesterday was our anniversary and he tried so hard. He took me mini golfing, and it started raining. Two weeks of sunshine and then it rains in the middle of a golf game. He is trying and I apprecate it. We rode bikes together, we are trying.
Oh yeah, RF is getting me their newest pair of running shoes AND a new Garmin GPS watch. Oh yeah, oh yeah *happy dance, happy dance* I was gonna do 10 miles, but my calf cramped up again so I cut it short at 9.1. It felt good to get on the road, and really stretch my legs out. Looking forward to going to the gym tomorrow and really cranking some miles this week! |
Biking Milage Miles: 8.00 |
| |
| |
Did my 45 min of time intervals. felt good to get my legs going. a little sore from yesterday. but I did it.
off to bike 8 miles...then another 10 mile run...hopefully!
Did only 7 miles. :( My hamstring kept cramping up and I had to stop and re stretch it, so I called it a day after 7 miles.
I have 17 days until a big company dinner for my husband. I want to trim down another 4-6 pounds. Among all the wifes in his division, I am literally the only one that exercises, including his bosses wife and the division head's wife. Dh said he is looking forward to showing me off and I get a new dress for the event. I can safely lose between 4 and 6 pounds, unsafely I can go down as much as 10 pounds. But exercising and eating right for me at this point isn't about drastic weight loss. I can always stand to lose a little more, but I do want to trim down just a touch more! |
Biking Milage Miles: 8.00 |
| |
| |
I added 5 min on to my 45 min intervals for 50 min total. Gradually gonna add 5 more..and 5 more and 5 more...*tee-hee*
On a huge down hill slope, I was gaining speed, went to slow down, and my rear brakes snapped...why me? Thankfully the front brakes worked great! Time to get it repaired....again! *tee-hee*
did 10 miles outside. Nice and slow. I stopped to stretch every couple of miles. I'm pushing it on miles, but not time. Nice and slow.... |
Biking Milage Miles: 8.00 |
|
| |
Middle of my intervals, I got cramped up and had to cut it short. I want to push it, but not hurt myself.
did the 7.25 mile loop into a huge head wind. I hate Michigan weather....It's summer and 59 degrees, rainy and windy. Looks like fall is here!
I ran in the rain...nothing better than a long run in the rain! |
Biking Milage Miles: 7.25 |
|
| | Finished the week with a nice light run... |
| | Fall is here...windy cool...perfect football and chili weather...but it's not even SEPTEMBER yet! |
| |
Rode my bike to the gym (9 mile round trip) and did an hour of time intervals on the tready. Got 7.08 miles in, and after breakfast I'm off to do another 8 miles on the track. First day of his vacation, and he hasn't gotten out of bed. lucky him.
took a nice long run. felt good! what a way to kick off the week! |
Biking Milage Miles: 9.00 |
| |
| |
rode to the gym again. only did 5.3 miles on the tready, dh wanted to leave...so we left early. |
Biking Milage Miles: 9.00 |
|
| | did a short run with a nice bike ride. a little sore from walking everywhere yesterday. |
Biking Milage Miles: 8.50 |
|
| | Did a short run today. I am getting bored with running. Maybe not with running, but since dh is on vacation this week and is at home...my time is being pulled in different directions. Next week will be better, and the kids go back to school and he goes back to work and I am tapering off for the half marathon at the end of the month. The half marathon will be the end of my running season. I will still run, but not to the extreme I did last month...over 250 miles for the month...not bad! |
| |
Today is DH's birthday. Only did 3 miles, cause he wanted to leave the gym early and get the day rollin'.
Unmotivated this week, but next week the kids go back to school and Dh goes back to work, and whooppee....I know my motivation will be back! |
| |
did a 3 mile walk early this morning followed by a 5.5 mile run.
|
| |
did .25 mile sprints for a half hour, got bored and did 5 min intervals, some .25 mile incline intervals....just a bit bored on the tready today. |
| | did 50 min of intervals. boring...can't wait for tomorrow...I can get my butt outside and run some laps! | |
| |
did 50 min on the treadmill today. It's raining, so I'm gonna skip my bike ride and do 30 min of weighted aerobics then another 5 mile run. I need to start tapering my runs...less than 10 miles a day...two weeks until my first half marathon! woo hoo!
did my 5 miles outside...I love running outside, even in the rain! Feels so much better!
although I barely brok 40 miles and ate crappy, I still managed to lose 3 pounds last week. I became obessed with loseing the last couple of pounds....and in reality I don't need to lose anymore weight. I look just fine!
Oh AND tomorrow I get to run a 5k with my middle son, as his guide. He is autistic and would end up getting lost....he wanders....but it is his and my oldest son's first 5k race! I am so so so excited for them!
| |
Not a good day yesterday. Not only were my legs so so so sore from squats and lunges, but our gym went under....closed without warning. I showed up at 5 am and the doors were locked and there was no equipment in the gym. Craptastic. *big crabby face*
On the bright side, my boys did very well at their first 5k race. My oldest, Pat, came in at 26m 36s. His first race and he did very well. I wasn't conserned about his time, but that he finished something he started. And now he is bitten by the running bug and wants to run and go to races.
Danny did very well too. Dh ran with him as a guide, but said Danny kept out running him. Dh had to yell to Danny to come back cause he was running too fast! *tee-hee* Danny's time was 38m 26s. Doesn't matter about their time, I am just so proud of them. *Happy Face*
Oh and my two oldest start school today. So no more long afternoon runs until the youngest starts pre school on the 28th. Then I will have all day to run run run! We are going to a new gym on Sunday, cause Saturday I am helping to officiate an ultra marathon...in Hell Michigan! I will be gone all day working, so Sunday we will be at a new gym! So I'm doing an hour of cardio and weights at home until then. Lucky me! |

It was along weekend. I did a 17 hour volunteer shift at an ultra marathon. It was so much fun. I was there before sun up, and left after the first tent was dropped. Learned a lot and had so much fun!
Dh and I are still working on our issues. Since our gym went under, and the local gyms are not running any specials for enrollment, dh bought a new treadmill. He said why spend the 50-75 bucks a month for me just to run, when we can take the money and invest it into a treadmill. At Christmas he said we will get an elliptical machine and invest in more weights. Yeah, I think it's great (-14 degrees in the mornings on winter days is no fun to head to the gym!), but I am afraid that he thinks if he throws money at me then I will be ok with us, when we have more to work on than throwing money at it! But at least he is trying!
jumped back on the tready after 35 min of cardio and weights. Mistake...the knot in my calf came back and now I am limping. what a dork....I have a lot of food sins to make up for. Saturday I ate and ate and ate and ate. RF had great food for the volunteers. Just wonderful bagels and donuts, and pizza and chips and coffee...it was so good and now I am paying for my crime against food! *TEE-HEE*
| |
did my morning run. the treadmill measures to the .000 of a mile....loving it!!
did my second run. calf cramped up again, so I stopped. I have a roller and some heat, so hopefully that will help. And since my half marathon is next weekend, I don't want to risk gettng hurt. |
| |
did a quick run on the tready. Nothing kicks a day off like a good run!
did a half hour in the after noon along with a my weight set. Calf is feeling better, so I did 3.3 miles instead of the 2.5. Felt good! |
| | had a good run this morning. As much as I don't like the first 3 miles...takes me a bit to warm up...the last two are wonderful. The weekend is gonna be great...cause I won't be in a rush, I can take my time for a long run! |
| |
a slow 30 min run..nice and easy! Took the weekend off. I have 8000 packets to build and scan in for the Big House Big Heart race. It is the largest charity race for RF and I have a week to get them done...lucky me. Thursday is my birthday (yeah me) and Saturday is my half marathon. So, it is a slow running week. Twice a day, for a half hour at a time. Nothing long, nothing hard. Nice and easy!
Ran outside, warm and muggy out there. worked up a good sweat. Found out my birthday plans. Tomato picking and canning. Whoopee. Par for the course..my birthdays usually suck. |
| | did my am run. off to get the rest of the family ready for work/school. I am through 5500 out of 12000 bibs that need to be made, stapled and scanned in. My life is so thrilling...don't be jealous! |
| | my AM 30 min or 3 mile (which ever comes LAST) felt good. Did a sprint at the end. Getting nervous about saturday's half marathon...*teeth chattering* but as long as i finish then I 've accomplished something! | |
| | It is my birthday...woo hoo...and my last work out until the half maraton on saturday. wish me luck! | |
| Race: |
Run Woodstock (13.1 Miles) 02:17:55, Place overall: 65, Place in age division: 5
I did the half marathon. About 5 miles into it, I hit a rock, and hit the ground. I did finish, but with a fractured toe and a slighly sprained ankle. I am in a lot of pain, not only from the run, but my foot is KILLING me.
Love, peace and running!
The Results were just posted:
I came in 5th out of 19 in my age bracket (I PLACED!!!!)
I was 65th out of 217 over all runners, and 23rd out of 126 women.
Not bad for a first half marathon AND a broken toe! YEAH ME!
| |
did a long slow run. my foot is sore, but as long as I keep my toe taped and shoe tied tight, I can run. Not running for three days was hard...very hard. so a nice slow run was in order. I didn't push it, just went slow.
did a nice bike ride. felt good to get out, and my legs are sore...first time since the kids went to school that I've been on a bike. since my youngest is in pre school in the AM, I can bike ride and run and work out in the morning! yeah! |
Biking Milage Miles: 6.75 |
|
| |
did a quick 4 mile outside run. wanted to do more, but my new shoes were making my toes go numb. so I'm going to re string them, then go for a 6.75 mile bike ride, then when my daughter is napping, I'll do a longer indoor run.
My goals for this winter....: stay in shape! Run outside in the AM four days a week, bike 4 days a week, run indoors 6 days a week. My next race is going to be a very important one. It will be the one year anniversary of my racing schedule. The first race I had ever done! And although I know I can, I want to beat my first time. My first time was 24m 59s. I know I can smash that, but I am still excited and nervous. DH is going to run that one with me too! Excited! |
| | did a quick run. still sore from last week. how long should someone take it easy after a half? I don't know...just letting my body tell me what to do! | |
| |
Did the first 'real' run of my first 'real' workout since my toe injury and the half marathon. felt good. my toe is achy, but as long as I keep it taped up, it doesn't bother me too much.
My boys did the Big House Big Heart 5k race yesterday. They did great! 12,000 runners, one of the biggest charity races in this area. They were awesome!
We may be moving! We found a wonderful house in a great neighborhood. Has everything we want, and in a much better area. DH and I were talking about this neighborhood yesterday, and then suddenly we found a house in that exact neighborhood, in our price range, and has room for our RV, truck and kids and dogs. We are looking at it tonight and tomorrow. I google earth'd it, and it is PERFECT. Short of the inside being a dump, we are gonna take it! Excited! Great schools, great neighborhood, and in the heart of Ann Arbor, close to the U of M stadium! Can't wait!
did a second run. Need to work back up to 13-15 miles a day. But an hour and a half of running every day isn't too bad! gonna get my mojo back....I know I will! |
| |
did a quick 46 min on the tready. I lost track of time, watching tv and listening to music. Loved every step. I think my mojo is back!
Did my second workout...felt good! I have extended my second run time from 45 to 50 min. Feels good to get my legs going and heart pumping! |
| | took the day off. my legs were so sore! |
| | took yesterday off. I added lunges and squats to my weight routine, and i'm sore....*tee-hee* But starting next week, I'm making Friday's my recovery day, and Saturday and Sunday Dh and I are going to start biking for an hour in the mornings. Right now we get up at 4 and walk for an hour before he has to get ready to work. We got a jogging stroller so we can take our daughter on races with us. But Friday's are my daughter's day off from school, so it would be nice for us just to hang out and not have to worry about taking the time to run. |
| |
Time for me to get my butt back in gear. Took my two weeks of playing around, now time to get serious. There are holiday parties coming up that I have to look good for! Time to shed a few extra pounds and firm my booty up! *tee-hee* I'm baaaaaack!
Did my second run. Felt good! |
| |
did my 50 min, but added a 5 min cool down. I have been skipping a cool down, but now I enjoy it. woo hoo!
did my 45 min and 5 min cool down. It feels good to do a cool down. Glad I am doing it. 105 min of running! feels good!
|
| |
did a nice run...I enjoy it so much!
only did over half my work out..my butt is sore! |
| | did a good workout. I feel better going farther on a faster setting on the tready....vs time or distance intervals. but isn't training NOT about what feels good, but what will do the most good??!!?? |
| | did a short workout. my daughter is sleeping...took advantage of the time. felt good! |
| |
Did a long work out, wasn't paying attention and went over my 50 min + 5 cool down! But it felt good, but I need to push harder to make it more difficult. maybe i will try something this afternoon.
we walk 4 miles every morning, then I have my two private workouts...and now dh wants to have his own running blog....I am proud of him and his progress. he is working so hard!
did my second workout...felt good! |
| |
I feel blah...yucky! I have 6 weeks from Satuday before my race....the one year anniversary of racing AND keeping the weight off. I have been naughty when it comes to eating, so I am on a mission...I WILL lose 10-12 pounds by December 5th. I am going back to watching what I eat and exercising harder. I can lose two pounds a week that way. Every Tuesday I will weigh myself, pre work out. And only on Tuesdays. Not any other time....same time of day every Tuesday.
So my current weight is 140.2. My goal for next Tuesday is 138.2. That is two pounds. I CAN do it. I know I can!
i feel sick...had to stop my second run at 1.67 miles. had to throw up. not good!
| |
Feel so much better today. did a great run along with a half hour of weights and 10 sets of stairs (from our third floor, through the living room, then down to the basement) with 1.5 pound weights on each foot. Feels good! Now I have to incorperate abs...I hate ab work, but if I want to look better I have to put the effort in!
Time + Efforts = results!
did just over half my second run...my daughter is sick and woke up from her nap early. poor thing! |
| |
I really pushed it this morning. I added ab work to my weights, and decided to do the 10 sets of stairs 3 days a week...legs are sore from yesterday! *tee-hee*
Looking forward to my first weigh in....i'm working hard and I am sure it will pay off!
really pushed myself today. felt good...did speed intervals and incline intervals. Nice to have a goal! |
| |
Everthing was conspiring to keep me from working out today. The weather, my Dh, my kids. Eck..I was a half mile into my run when the school called, my son is sick. so I had to wake up my daughter from her nap, load her up into the stroller (raining and windy too!) to walk over a mile to the school and back. lucky me! Oh and that is on top of my normal 4 mile morning walk, and a quick mile walk to the pharmacy this morning. with weights on my legs! so much for a down day!
skipping tomorrows workout, going to visit family for the day. going to squeeze in an hour walk first thing in the morning, then off for a 150 mile drive! Fun fun! |
| |
Had a rough weekend. visited some family, and ate at a pizza buffet. bad thing for a carb-aholic! but i let myself be bad for a day. not too bad!
Did my morning run. I feel much better running between a 8:30 and an 8 min mile. feels good to get my legs going and pounding!
did a quick 45 min run. feeling better today. yesterday I was coming down from a carb high!
oh got a job offer from RF. The job that I have wanted. But since my daughter is in half day pre school, I have to be here for her when she gets home at 12. I told them that, and RF said that my time will come, and I will eventually get to work there! I can't wait! |
| |
Yet another day of running and just trying to stay sane. my 7 year old figured out that if he tells the teacher he is sick he gets to come home. second time in two weeks...no fever, no outward symptoms, and he is just fine when he gets home. So, he will be home for the rest of the week, in bed, and no halloween. If he is sick, he shouldn't be outside in the night air, or watching tv. he needs his rest.
got my morning run done, and now i am gearing up for another run. I need to vent my frustrations. oh yeah, and my daughter decided she didn't like her fruit punch, and poured it all over the carpet. lucky me!
did my second run..5.29 miles. felt good. my bum hurts, due in part to the weights I wear on my ankles all day! Adds more resistance and makes my butt work harder!
Did my weigh in...136.2. Down 4 pounds. Not bad. If I keep up this hard work, I will make my goal of 128 by December 5th! I hope!
| |
Did a nice run this morning. skipped yesterday's afternoon run. I will do my best to make up the miles today and tomorrow, but if I don't no biggie. I'm a week ahead of schedule on weight loss, so I'm not gonna stress over it!
did my second run, but somehow turned the tready off at 4.1 miles...I wanted to do more, so I jumped on for another 15 min...felt good cause I was pissed! *tee-hee*
| | did a quick 50 min run. i was frustrated and need to burn some energy and it worked! |
| |
did my morning workout....have to run errands when my daughter gets home, so i might miss my afternoon run....but we will see. i may be back in time to do it...we will see!
got back with plenty of time to get another run in. stretched my legs out and pushed myself. feels good! |
| |
Did my morning run....trying to push my hour run to 7.5 miles, not 7.27. the faster that I go, for a longer time, the better over all run time.
I decided to go to Indianapolis next year in November for the Monument Marathon and half marathon. I am going to run the half marathon. As much as I want to run a marathon, I want to get a few half marathons under my belt first. I am doing a walking/running marathon in April with DH. The slow starters of this marathon start early and the minimum time is 4 hours. We want to do it together, and kinda see what a full marathon feels like. Goals, goals and more goals!
|
| |
Found a way to increase my morning mileage. Start my warm up at 7.0 mph instead of 6.5. That gains me a few more strides before my run starts. The difference in speed in the warm up didn't seem to effect me. It did allow me to go as high as 8.0 mph for a bit, and even 7.7mph didn't feel like exhertion. Felt good.
I opted against the second run yesterday. I had a bunch of things to get done. I am glad I didn't do it. but today, it's on like donkey kong!
got really dizzy on my run, so i stopped. light headed. I haven't eatten much today, maybe that's it. coffee, toast, and oatmeal. maybe i need to eat something. |
| |
Taking today off.
making plans and decisions. 210 days until I leave with my kids to another state. I haven't told him yet, but I can not take the crap anymore. i will do my workout tomorrow before I head to RF for the day. but i need the day off to plan, and decide what to do. |
| | Focused and clear headed, I know what i have to do. I am ready to deal with my mistakes and focus on the future. Nothing is impossable, and as focused as I am, I know I can do it. |
| |
doing my normal workouts, getting stuff done. trying to focus on the positve instead of the negative. trying, trying and trying!
killed my ankle....cut run short. gonna get my hair cut tonight....maybe an update on color...we will see! |
| |
changing my routine again...5 min warm up, 60 min run, and a 5 min cool down. good times!
I get to work at RF today. all day. with adults! woo hoo! |
| | did my morning work out. 5 min warm up, 60 min run, 5 min cool down. my afternoon workout will be 5 min warm up, 45 min workout, and 5 min cool down. gonna get my miles up, my spirits up, and my confidence up! |
| |
did a short run this morning. my daughter is off school today and wouldn't sit still for anything. so after lunch, she naps and I run...as fast and hard as I can.
took yesterday off. been feeling crummy lately....kinda sick, kinda down. but i have to force myself to run, cause i know in the end it will make me feel better.
I forced myself to do 5 min warm up, 60 min of speed intervals, then a 5 min cool down. I feel better now that I am done. but isn't that how it goes!
| |
busy day ahead....squeezed in an early run. got a garmin 205 from RF yesterday, as a thank you for all the volunteering I have been doing there. can't wait to use it. hopefully tomorrow...yeah!
good afternoon run...had to cut it short, heading to RF for the afternoon! |
| |
did my run. i do love a long morning run!
I decided to ditch my second daily run....it's not helping me lose the last 10 pounds. so I am going to try some cardio weights. we will see if that will help! |
| | not feeling the workout this morning, so i'm going to pick it up in the afternoon. |
| |
Took friday and the weekend off. I needed time to re charge and figure out what i want to focus on.
Got a new pair of jeans...still fit into a new size 2. Not a stretched out size 2. but I do know my goals..I want to firm up, not necessarily lose weight, but tighten up. I will NEVER have a completely flat stomach (stretched out skin from babies and losing the extra weight...) unless I have a tummy tuck, but I can tone up what I have. I tried on a size 18 women's skirt, the size I wore two years ago, and I could have fit another one of me into it. I needed to see what I have accomplished. That helped a lot.
| |
did a half run and weights. get to go to RF for the day!
YEAH! |
| | did my normal morning walk, then morning workout. phew...took most the week off last week. just needed the time. I have a race on Saturday. It will be the first anniversary of the first race I have ever run! I am excited for it. It is also the first anniversary of me keeping my extra weight off! yeah me! |
| | too sick to run today. have a race on saturday...hopefully i can do it. |
| Race: |
Holiday Hustle (3.1 Miles) 00:24:20, Place overall: 241, Place in age division: 8 | | Not a bad way to end my first year running! There were 125 women in my age group...so 8th isn't bad! And To place 241 out of 1237 runners....dam I'm proud of myself! |
| |
did my AM workout.
Got an email from RF, where I volunteer. My 'boss' said, since I am an un paid employee, she wants me and hubby to go to their christmas party. They don't invite volunteers....but she thinks of me as more than a volunteer! OMG! I am so excited!
| | Did a half workout today...legs are still sore! |
| | did a good morning run. gotta love it! |
| |
did a good run. since i have to work tomorrow, i'm going to squeeze in a quick afternoon workout. Oh and it was frigid outside this morning, so I had to skip my walk. so the second workout will be enough to burn a few more calories! |
| |
did a nice quick workout...had to cut it short...my darling daughter wanted to beat up her brother and had a fit all over the place. lucky me! But i do get to go to RF today!
yeah!!!!!!! |
| |
Did a good workout. looking forward to weigh in on wednesday....
got new clothes on Saturday...the size two pants were a little big...made me smile...means my new routine is working.
| | did speed work for a half hour, plus warm up and half a cool down. accidentlaly pulled the emergency cord on the tready. craptastic! felt good though! 7.0 mph to 8.0 mph for two minute segments, after a 5 min warm up. felt so good! may change it up next week, if it still feels good, do 3 min fast, and 1 min slow. good times! |
| | felt good and strong today! got a cramp though...oh well! still felt good for most of it! |
| |
I took yesterday off...my cold knocked me for a loop. today it settled in my chest, and I could only do 3 miles. poor me! i will get better, and knock it out of the park! |
| |
did my morning work out. recovering from a chest cold...my throat hurts a bit.
went out to RF's christmas party. I was the ONLY volunteer ever invited to the employee christmas party. I got all dressed up, and girly lookin'....it was fun! |
| | 45 min of speed work...gotta love it! | |
| | had to stop...stomach cramps..not good. my chest hurts from coughing....blah! |
| |
took a few days off, this chest cold is kicking my butt.
tried a workout today, but I am feeling kinda weak, so I only did a half workout. may try to do the other half this afternoon. just feeling weak. |
| | still feeling weak...also my period is late....arg...a minor annoyance, but an annnoyance indeed! |
| | so tired of feeling sick....my period STILL hasn't shown up, and if it's not here by tomorrow night, we are doing a pregnancy test. nervous...good and bad.... | |
| |
did quarter mile incline intervals. seems easier to go by the quarter mile vs time on a treadmill....hate treadmill running.
going to the store tonight...pregnancy test time....nervous, excited...*fingers crossed* |
