| Location: Ypsilanti,MI,United States Member Since: Dec 13, 2008 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships. Short-Term Running Goals: My goals for 2010 are:
*2150 total miles
*finish a walking/jogging marathon
*a 2 hour half marathon Long-Term Running Goals: I want to take each year as it comes.
2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.
Personal: This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.
My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend. |

I could only do 3.51 this morning before my ankle gave out. It hurts! I am going to do between 3 and 4 mile run this afternoon.
Did another 4 miles outside. It is 28 degrees, with snow flurries. My ankle started hurting after I ran in a snow pack. I noticed that I turn my ankle in when I run in snow, causing the pain. If I baby it for a few days, then avoid snow, I should be fine.

4 miles in 32 minutes. not bad. 8 min. miles! Followed by heavy weights. I may end up doing another 3-4 miles this afternoon, depending on how icy it is out there. | Add Comment |

Did 4 miles this morning
Ran an addtional 3.1 this afternoon. 21 degrees, snowing, and a couple of inches on the ground. Man it felt good! | Add Comment |
