Running Accomplishments:

 I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships.

Short-Term Running Goals:

 My goals for 2010 are:

*2150 total miles

*finish a walking/jogging marathon

*a 2 hour half marathon

Long-Term Running Goals:

  I want to take each year as it comes.

2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.

 

Personal:

 This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.

My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend.

did a quick 50 min run. i was frustrated and need to burn some energy and it worked!

did my morning workout....have to run errands when my daughter gets home, so i might miss my afternoon run....but we will see. i may be back in time to do it...we will see!

got back with plenty of time to get another run in. stretched my legs out and pushed myself. feels good!

Did my morning run....trying to push my hour run to 7.5 miles, not 7.27. the faster that I go, for a longer time, the better over all run time. 

I decided to go to Indianapolis next year in November for the Monument Marathon and half marathon. I am going to run the half marathon. As much as I want to run a marathon, I want to get a few half marathons under my belt first. I am doing a walking/running marathon in April with DH. The slow starters of this marathon start early and the minimum time is 4 hours. We want to do it together, and kinda see what a full marathon feels like.  Goals, goals and more goals!

Found a way to increase my morning mileage.  Start my warm up at 7.0 mph instead of 6.5. That gains me a few more strides before my run starts. The difference in speed in the warm up didn't seem to effect me. It did allow me to go as high as 8.0 mph for a bit, and even 7.7mph didn't feel like exhertion.  Felt good.

I opted against the second run yesterday. I had a bunch of things to get done. I am glad I didn't do it. but today, it's on like donkey kong!

got really dizzy on my run, so i stopped. light headed. I haven't eatten much today, maybe that's it. coffee, toast, and oatmeal. maybe i need to eat something.

Taking today off.

making plans and decisions. 210 days until I leave with my kids to another state. I haven't told him yet, but I can not take the crap anymore. i will do my workout tomorrow before I head to RF for the day.  but i need the day off to plan, and decide what to do.

Focused and clear headed, I know what i have to do.  I am ready to deal with my mistakes and focus on the future. Nothing is impossable, and as focused as I am, I know I can do it.

doing my normal workouts, getting stuff done. trying to focus on the positve instead of the negative. trying, trying and trying!

killed my ankle....cut run short. gonna get my hair cut tonight....maybe an update on color...we will see!

did my morning work out. 5 min warm up, 60 min run, 5 min cool down. my afternoon workout will be 5 min warm up, 45 min workout, and 5 min cool down. gonna get my miles up, my spirits up, and my confidence up!

did a short run this morning. my daughter is off school today and wouldn't sit still for anything. so after lunch, she naps and I run...as fast and hard as I can.

took yesterday off. been feeling crummy lately....kinda sick, kinda down. but i have to force myself to run, cause i know in the end it will make me feel better.

I forced myself to do 5 min warm up, 60 min of speed intervals, then a 5 min cool down. I feel better now that I am done. but isn't that how it goes!

busy day ahead....squeezed in an early run. got a garmin 205 from RF yesterday, as a thank you for all the volunteering I have been doing there. can't wait to use it. hopefully tomorrow...yeah!

I decided to ditch my second daily run....it's not helping me lose the last 10 pounds. so I am going to try some cardio weights. we will see if that will help!

Took friday and the weekend off. I needed time to re charge and figure out what i want to focus on.

Got a new pair of jeans...still fit into a new size 2. Not a stretched out size 2. but I do know my goals..I want to firm up, not necessarily lose weight, but tighten up. I will NEVER have a completely flat stomach (stretched out skin from babies and losing the extra weight...) unless I have a tummy tuck, but I can tone up what I have. I tried on a size 18 women's skirt, the size I wore two years ago, and I could have fit another one of me into it. I needed to see what I have accomplished.  That helped a lot.

did my normal  morning walk, then morning workout. phew...took most the week off last week. just needed the time. I have a race on Saturday. It will be the first anniversary of the first race I have ever run!  I am excited for it. It is also the first anniversary of me keeping my extra weight off! yeah me!
