Running Accomplishments:

I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships.

Short-Term Running Goals:

 My goals for 2010 are:

*2150 total miles

*finish a walking/jogging marathon

*a 2 hour half marathon

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to take each year as it comes.

2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.

Personal:

This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.

My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend.

did 2.66 at the gym, but someone let the high schoolers in to play with the weights.  they kept dropping them, laughing, dropping them, then yelling.  blah. i almost fell off the treadmill!

so i did another 3.2 at home. felt good to get out and let my legs go!

I was doing my quarter mile sprints when I pulled a muscle. in my butt! i am so sore from transplanting grass yesterday, my tricepts and quads are sore from all the bending and lifting.

If I am feeling up to it, i may take another run this afternoon. but oh man, detoxing from coffee (I'm tired!), pulled glute, I don't know if I can! but i might!

did 3.35 (half hour) of incline intervals and heavy lower body weights. decided to take it easy for the rest of the week, give myself some time to heal. yesterday was really hard, kicking the coffee, pulled muscle, not a very happy day. but I decided to continue on, slowly this week, and hopefully return to a normal schedule next week. on a lighter note, i get to go bathing suit shopping this weekend. first time since I was 16 that I am going to wear a swim suit. I am down to 134 pounds, down from a high of 200 last spring. I have a party that i am going to next month. and i get to do it in a swim suit. I am so excited!

did another 4.1 miles this afternoon.  i also did 30 min of weights this morning.  i needed to strech things out. felt good!

did a half hour of speed intervals and no weights.  i am doing light weights this morning then another 4 mile run this afternoon.

i am feeling a lot better.  doing only about half my normal workouts this week has been a good way to deal with fatigue and a pulled muscle.

had an nice 4.1 mile afternoon run.  love trail running.  so much more fun than running on the street!
