| Location: Ypsilanti,MI,United States Member Since: Dec 13, 2008 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships. Short-Term Running Goals: My goals for 2010 are:
*2150 total miles
*finish a walking/jogging marathon
*a 2 hour half marathon Long-Term Running Goals: I want to take each year as it comes.
2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.
Personal: This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.
My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend. |

4 miles of quarter mile sprints, heavy lower body weights. I have a 5k race tomorrow, so a nice light afternoon run today!

Run Fit 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:23:49, Place overall: 73, Place in age division: 4 | | Ran an evening 5k. Had only 5 hours of sleep the night before, and made the mistake of doing squats and lunges and heavy lower body weights the day before. But I still came in at a personal record of 23m 49s. Sprinted the last 10th of a mile, blowing three people out of the water. I came in 20th out of the women, and 73rd out of 300 runners. Not too shabby! I done good! This time last year I was 200 pounds and couldn't even fast walk 3 miles. Now I am placing in 5k races! | Comments(3) |
