| Location: Ypsilanti,MI,United States Member Since: Dec 13, 2008 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships. Short-Term Running Goals: My goals for 2010 are:
*2150 total miles
*finish a walking/jogging marathon
*a 2 hour half marathon Long-Term Running Goals: I want to take each year as it comes.
2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.
Personal: This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.
My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend. |

a slow 30 min run..nice and easy! Took the weekend off. I have 8000 packets to build and scan in for the Big House Big Heart race. It is the largest charity race for RF and I have a week to get them done...lucky me. Thursday is my birthday (yeah me) and Saturday is my half marathon. So, it is a slow running week. Twice a day, for a half hour at a time. Nothing long, nothing hard. Nice and easy!
Ran outside, warm and muggy out there. worked up a good sweat. Found out my birthday plans. Tomato picking and canning. Whoopee. Par for the course..my birthdays usually suck. | Add Comment |
| | did my am run. off to get the rest of the family ready for work/school. I am through 5500 out of 12000 bibs that need to be made, stapled and scanned in. My life is so thrilling...don't be jealous! | Add Comment |

I did the half marathon. About 5 miles into it, I hit a rock, and hit the ground. I did finish, but with a fractured toe and a slighly sprained ankle. I am in a lot of pain, not only from the run, but my foot is KILLING me.
Love, peace and running!
The Results were just posted:
I came in 5th out of 19 in my age bracket (I PLACED!!!!)
I was 65th out of 217 over all runners, and 23rd out of 126 women.
Not bad for a first half marathon AND a broken toe! YEAH ME! | Comments(3) |
