Tomorrow is my first 10K! So I did a nice 3.5 incline run, just to warm up and relax. If the weather clears up (at least the wind), then i will be off to do another 3-4 miles this afternoon. Afternoons are my de-stressing run! And with the kids being home all next week, I am going to need it! Tomorrow's race is so important to me. Not just because it is my first 10k, but it marks the one year anniversary of me getting off my butt and exercising. April 9th (the actual day), I started off walking 3 miles in 1 hour every day. I worked my way up to speed walking 6 miles, then running 6 miles and by December, I was geared up for my first 5K. I have lost 50 pounds, gone from a dress size 18 (XL-2XL) down to a 1 (xs-s). Went from a 42-40-48 to a 32-27-35. I have more muscle mass, my legs and arms have definition and I can do sit ups and push ups and look like a normal person. I'm sure I could have lost more weight, faster, using diet pills and diets, but I re thought my life, and make a life change, not just a diet change. I quit smoking in October. My life is completely different. I feel amazing, look great, but most of all, I am happy. Thank you to everyone on this site. Nothing but support and encouragment from everyone. |
