Running Accomplishments:

 I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships.

Short-Term Running Goals:

 My goals for 2010 are:

*2150 total miles

*finish a walking/jogging marathon

*a 2 hour half marathon

Long-Term Running Goals:

  I want to take each year as it comes.

2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.

 

Personal:

 This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.

My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend.

took three days off...some how screwed up my shoulder to the point it hurts to take a deep breath, and running is craptastic.

feeling better today....man i was in so much pain yesterday. i cried all afternoon. nothing the docs could do, just a strained muscle or pinched nerve.  but next to child birth...this was the worst!  Worse than when I broke my toe running the half marathon!  but I did a half run and will do another half this afternoon. still sore, but don't want to push it!

broke 9 miles in my 70 min run.  now I have yoga, another eliptical workout and another run. it is so so so pretty out there...can't wait to go outside and run today! ♥♥♥

did my second run, a combo of fast walk and 10-11 mph sprints.  oowwie! my buns hurt!

after a total of 17 miles yesterday (walked an additional 3+ in the evening) my butt hurts! gonna make today my rest day, then pick it back up tomorrow. oh and I'm doing a 5 mile trail run/hike on saturday...so I guess I can swap out today for saturday,

going to take a break from training for races.  kinda burnt out...I know a little early to burn out, but it's not like it's my career or I'm doing it for money or anything. I just need to change focus for a while. Then I might come back. not giving up running, but taking a break from races.

did a good   70 min run. I have 4 mile inclines to do today. but I am feeling better now that I have taken the stress of training AND losing weight off my back. I am going to focus on losing the last 10 pounds and relaxing and enjoying this summer.  I feel renewed, refreshed and re focused!

Did a wonderful early morning  hike/run in Pinckney State Park on the Poto trail.  OH so pretty in the morning! I loved it!
