| Location: Ypsilanti,MI,United States Member Since: Dec 13, 2008 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: I started running last year, my first race was December 2008. It was my first 5k. In the past year I have done 5k's, a 5 miler, 10k, 10 miler and my first half marathon. I started running so I could keep off the weight I had lost (70 pounds). And in running, I have found solace, peace, and friendships. Short-Term Running Goals: My goals for 2010 are:
*2150 total miles
*finish a walking/jogging marathon
*a 2 hour half marathon Long-Term Running Goals: I want to take each year as it comes.
2009 goal was just to run. I did make the goal of 2000 miles. It was my first year running. I will update my total on the 31st of January.
Personal: This past year has been frought with difficulty, trials, and stress. But it has also been a blessing. I learned what I can do, what my body can do, and how to make myself what I want to be.
My three kids have been a wonderful inspiration, and my husband, not matter how we fuss, fit or fight, is ultimately my best friend. |

good new years day run! gotta start the year with a good work out. getting ready to do a 6 mile walk too! love working out!

today was supposed to be my quarter mile inclines for 8 miles....liar! Did 4 miles of inclines, and my legs are just killing me. Wound up doing 5 miles. gonna rest a bit, then do another 5 miles later. my legs are just on fire.
jumped back on, couldn't get my rhythm, legs are sore, hit the emergency button...just a craptastic day. | Comments(6) |

Took a few extra days off last week. wasn't feeling well, just needed some downtime. Needed to create some goals. So here goes:
by Feb 14th (valentines day) I will:
drop 10 pounds....sounds like a lot, but really it's not. that's just 2.5 pounds a week. And with my new training schedule, it is completely doable.
M,W,F: 2 seperate runs, with a short weight set.
T and TH: 1 med run (7 miles ish) with a long weight set.
Need to tone up my tummy and legs a bit. But I can do it!
did my second run. most milage since august and training for the half marathon. loved each step. felt good to split the runs in two. might do it again tomorrow! | Add Comment |

did a really short run this morning. I am off my game. DH dropped a bomb...he wants to more to Shrieveport Louisana. Ok..out of the blue....drop everything and move....I don't know what is going on, or why he is doing this. he said we will talk about it on Thursday. He is taking the day off that day. ok...I guess we will see.
going to do another short run this afternoon. I will have my bearings by then!

did a great outside run. i forgot how much I loved running outside. that dam tready!

did 30 min of incline intervals and 30 min of pace work, and a 5 min cool down. good run. looking forward to running outside this afternoon. nice and warm at 33 degrees! its a heat wave!
Oh and did my first weigh in this morning. I lost 6 pounds last week. I know the first week, with me, I lose a bunch of weight. The following weeks tapers to 2-3 pounds a week. But 6 pounds...not bad! | Add Comment |

started my sprints, but my legs were cramping up. so about half way, i decided to slow the increase. not too big..did a little less than i wanted.

did a nice run. couldn't run outside yesterday. the water company came and shut the water off for repairs. fine, but they disappeared and didn't turn it back on until 2, and with the kids home sick, there was no time to get anything done. lucky me.

had to take yesterday off...my back was hurting too bad! did a good run today...30 min of 2 min speed intervals, followed by 3.5 miles of incline intervals and a 5 min cool down. felt good. gonna do it again!
